Easy Steak & Baked Potato

2 - 6 to 8 ounce sirloin steaks about 3/4-inch thick

1 small to medium onion, sliced

2 medium baking potatoes

steak seasoning of your choice

butter or margarine

bell pepper slices

Season steak to your liking.  Place on good sized sheet of aluminum foil - or you can use those new foil cooking bags.

Scrub the potatos and butter the outside skin.  You can peel them if you prefer.  Cut crosswise through the potato, being careful not to cut all the way through.  I cut them in 1-inch slices.  Put a pat of butter or margarine between each section of potato, then salt and pepper it.

Set the potato on top of the steak and add a layer of sliced bell pepper and sliced onions.  Salt and pepper all.

Wrap tightly in the foil so that the juices will stay in.  Set on a grill with medium heat for approximately an hour.  I like to use a tin pie plate under mine just in case it does leak.  The thicker the steak, the longer you will need to cook them.

When done, be careful of the steam when you open the packets.

This meal can also be prepared in a regular oven.  I usually bake them at 350 for about an hour.

Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.

For a dinner party, this would be nice prepared in individual bowls, topped with a dollop of sour cream and sprinkled with chopped cilantro.
